We've added several movies and tv episodes to the default Madlad.tv experience. This content is licensed under Creative Commons, making them free to distribute.

The movies were sourced from Blender a company that makes tools for 3D animation. The TV episodes were sourced from a French cartoon called Oggy and the Cockroaches.

You can see more content from these creators on their respective YouTube channels, OGGY and Blender.

A purposeful demo

It's a sad reality today that even modern browsers have poor media support, only really supporting a few containers and media codecs. The Madlad.tv Media Server can handle transcoding content into a format that browsers can handle, but is only available after a user has created an account and downloaded/configured their server.

This provides a poor user experience for first time user's as they often try to watch a magnet link without an account in a poor format.

The new content is already encoded such that browsers can support it directly, so that our potential new users get an idealized experience.

To highlight the new content, we've updated the homepage with media rich links. Expect to see additional content show up periodically, we'll continue adding more high quality freely licensed content as we find it.
